    Unusual rust colored dorsum.

    Volutoconus bednalli

    Volutoconus bednalli (Brazier, 1878)
    This specimen stands out among many due to its consistent, classic chevron-like "bednalli" pattern around the entire body whorl. The anterior-end band is interestingly split into three separate thread-like bands that also encircle the entire body whorl. Both pattern characteristics make for a specimen that displays beautifully.

    • Description: Thick mature lip and perfect anterior canal. An almost unnoticable 3mm irregularity on the aperture side of the body whorl slightly below the suture line keep this specimen from being graded Gem.
