    Variably banded. As with many species of Helicostylids, the bands are created by a cuticle or periostracum that coats the surface of the shell.

    Guamampa gloriosa sarasinorum (P. & F. Sarasin, 1899)
    The nominate form of the species. Often wrongly sold in the genus Planispira, which is a Camaenid.

    • DESCRIPTION:  Superb condition. Variably banded; light & dark color forms.
    • DATA:  Very good
    • NOTES:  The genus Guamampa was described by Schileyko in 1996. Many of the larger southern Sulawesi Island species formerly placed in the Camaenid genus Planispira have been transferred to this genus. This species has also sold with the closely related genus name Tricheulota.

    Dark form with background color in various shades of brown -- quite distinct and showy.
