  • NOTES:  This is the classic form of the species. C. festiva is easily differentiated from the very similar C. pulcherrima by its more spiral periostracum.

Variably banded. As with many species of Helicostylids, the bands are created by a cuticle or periostracum that coats the surface of the shell.

White with narrow band on spire widening to thick band on body whorl.

Various shades of brown.

  • NOTES:  I sold these as a dark form of G. gloriosa in the past. The genus Guamampa Schileyko, 1996 includes 7 species, which were formerly classified in the genus Tricheulota Pilsbry, 1895.

A localized form with a lower spire height than the nominate form.

  • NOTES:  A number of researchers consider the genus Phoenicobius to be a Camaenid in the Family Camaenidae. I have retained its position here in Bradybaenidae so as not to confuse current book references.
