This comprehensive two part treatise on the small terrestrial mollusks of the Pacific Islands is the defacto standard for the Endodontids and related families. The camera lucida line drawings illustrate amazing detail for each species. Complete descriptions and geographical distributions are included for each species. Solem's scholarly work is not without some light humor in that he proposes a number of new genra and species with names such as Aaadonta and Zyzzyxdonta, the first and last genera to appear in an alphabetical list of molluscan genera, and the new genus and species combination Ba humbugi Solem, 1983!
